Pre- & Post-Operative Care
Del Mar Optometric is your go to pre-operative and post-operative eye care clinic. We serve many LASIK patients as well as those undergoing cataracts surgery.
Considering LASIK or Corrective Surgery?
Our optometrists will perform an evaluation and can discuss surgical options to correct your vision including LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ICLs (Implantable Collamer Lenses), and RLE (Refractive Lens Exchange). At that time, you will be given a referral to the LASIK surgery center that we have worked with on an ongoing basis. The center will perform advanced diagnostic testing and will evaluate your eligibility for surgery.
Once your surgery is scheduled, we will schedule follow-up appointments for you in our Del Mar office. Typically, you will begin these follow-ups the day after the surgery and continue at prearranged times over the following six months. After 1 year, a full exam is recommended to determine the long-term results of your procedure.
